Dear mr Thurner, I am pleased to inform you that the number of children in Croatia using cochlear implant is increasing. Due to that fact and problems these children are encountering, we, their parents, have organized ourselves in a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. Our goal is to make life easier for our children, as well as for all future users of cochlear implant. A part of this task is to ensure goverment funding for new cochlear implants on regular basis and coverage of spare parts by our health insurance fund. Needles to say our work has just started, but we hope that with help of all interested parts it will progress. The fitting of processors si done at SUVAG in Zagreb and through them we are able to purchase some spare parts. Thus the nature of your cooperation with SUVAG is of interest for us. We would appreciate if you could let us know whether your contacts are at formal or just informal basis. Your help in achieving regular governmental funding for new implants and spare parts is welcome and would be appreciated. Expecting your ansvwer soon
Sincerely yours Dr Mihovil Roglic

Dear Dr Mihovil Roglic, It is very exciting news that you have started a parent association in Croatia, and I wish you success with your group. At present Cochlear is trying to find a suitable business partner to import our product, and we have asked the Australian Trade Commission to help us to identify such a company. Hopefully we will make good progress and we are also in close contact with Prof Pegan regarding this issue. Before such a partner is appointed, and in order to ensure that spare parts are available to the children and adults with Cochlear implants, Ms B Sindija at SUVAG has kindly co-ordinated this for us. We would like to consider a number of companies before we make our final choice. A small company with experience of importing medical products (hearing aids, microscopes) would be ideal, and so if you have any contacts in this field we would welcome your suggestions. Please contact me you require any further information, and I hope t
